Welcome to Sawnee Mountain Preserve!

Please note that pets are not allowed in the Preserve or on the trails.

Located just 40 miles north of Atlanta in Cumming, Georgia, Sawnee Mountain Preserve provides visitors with 963 acres of scenic passive space, hiking trails and an interactive Visitor Center.  The Visitor Center serves as the administrative home​ for the​​​ ​​​​Outdoor Division of Forsyth County Parks and Recreation.​

The Outdoor Division currently manages the Sawnee Mountain Preserve and Visitor Center, Passive Parks and Greenspace properties and the Mountain Bike Trails at Central Park and Haw Creek Park.​

Family White Water Adventure

July 29-31     8:30am-4:00pm

Activity #360720-A   $150

This big mini-adventure is entirely family oriented and fun for the whole family. Participants will canoe or kayak on Lake Lanier, the Chestatee River, and the Chattahoochee River.  All equipment and transportation will be provided.  Ages 8 and up.
